Road closure in Milton Keynes - no idea why it had to be blocked to cyclists too.

Bike shop, South Girton - I'll try to get a daytime photo, but it's better than none at all!

Cycle parking at the National Trust's Chastleton House

Shared-use route from Deddington to Hempton

Shared-use route from Hempton to Deddington

NCN route 50 near Stowe - but the signs say route 70 (which actually crosses the north of England)

Cycle parking at the National Trust's Stowe Landscape Park

NCN route 50 leaving Buckingham

I don't suppose there's much cycle theft in Buckingham, but cycle stands are needed.

Empty space in the centre of Buckingham, where cycle parking is really needed.

NCN route 50 in Buckingham

Entering Zamora on the Puente de Piedra

The first sign that the East Kilbride cycle route 1 has morphed into the East Kilbride to Strathaven cycle route. Some of the signs on this route include the '1' number, others such as these do not.

Having thought you were now in the countryside, housing in Lindsayfield appears on the left.

Actual countryside, just around the bend from #107482.

A ten minute lie down can revive the cyclist not used to hills.

The end of the housing development on the edge of East Kilbride.

New housing on the outskirts of East Kilbride that, despite appearances, doesn't have adequate provision for car storists' needs.

NCN27 start of off road path along the old railway.

A path parallel to Greenhills Road that connects through to other streets and paths, including an underpass beneath Greenhills Road at Mossneuk.

A path parallel to Greenhills Road, looking east.

The path from Lonsdale Gait goes right through Newlandsmuir to meet up with #107473. A proper crossing across Greenhills Road would help.

Another roundabout on East Kilbride's cycle route 1, this one at Crosshouse Road.

East Kilbride's cycle route 1 crosses Greenhills Road at this roundabout. There is a plan to dual Greenhills Road because it is so busy at peak times (although you'd never guess at 11am!).

East Kilbride's cycle route 1 crosses Greenhills Road at this roundabout. Quiet enough mid morning, but this road is so busy at peak times it is to be dualled.

Barriers on the paths either side of Newlandsmuir Road. Quite why East Kilbride's cycle route 1 doesn't go straight across and along the path ahead right through to Lonsdale Gait (avoiding the Greenhills Road roundabout) I don't know.

The path linking Newlands Road to Newlandsmuir Road on East Kilbride's cycle route 1.

A 'No Through Road' sign on East Kilbride's cycle route 1, and no destination signage for the Mossneuk cycle route diverging to the right (see #31501). Why doesn't it go all the way to Hairmyres Hospital?

Signs for East Kilbride's cycle route 1 pointing both left and right at the Westwood Hill junction. Maybe the one across the junction is for the right turn into Newlands Road and has got twisted around.

Rockhampton Avenue ends in a Fire Path with a rather messy gap between the kerb ridges. No cycle exemption from the 'No Entry' signs, and a route sign pointing right at the far side of the junction, when East Kilbride's cycle route 1 turns ... [more]

The first sign on East Kilbride's cycle route 1 that says where it is going, and the next time a destination is mentioned it has changed to Strathaven.

Another junction on East Kilbride's cycle route 1 where there is only a sign in one direction at a turn. If only the routes wasn't so darned complicated!

A route sign for East Kilbride's cycle route 1 on Melbourne Avenue.

Traffic on the NCN27 can be fairly constant, stopping waiting and letting pass is necessary and frequent on this narrow section.

End of Mossneuk cycle route in Hairmyres on Strathtay Avenue, but with not even a dropped kerb at road junction! Path in foreground has subsided.

NCN27 during a break in the traffic.

Verity by Damien Hirst https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verity_(statue)

Cycle path crossing Mossneuk Road to access residential street on far side of road, on way to Hairmyres.

Junction of East Kilbride local cycle route 1 (to Newlandsmuir and Strathaven) and anonymous cycle route to Hairmyres. This is signed with a mix of Cycles Only, Shared Use and Recommended Route signs (see #31502), rarely in the right places ... [more]

Recommended Route sign used for cycle path in Mossneuk (see also #31501).

The path from the Westwood Road underpass joins Darwin Road, but no sign for East Kilbride's cycle route 1. The route actually turns left and goes up the hill to Melbourne Avenue, but could stay on the level if it turned right and went f ... [more]

East Kilbride's cycle route 1 and its underpass beneath Westwood Road, heading for Darwin Road.

The path forming East Kilbride's cycle route 1 between Darwin Road and Mungo Park, at the underpass beneath Murrayhill at Bowden Park. No signs.

The underpass beneath Murrayhill, in common with a number of other underpasses in East Kilbride of a similar vintage, has a cycleway and separate footway. Access from Mungo Park to Bowden Park, and as East Kilbride's cycle route 1 to Darwin ... [more]

The cycle path between the Murrayhill underpass and Mungo Park is in a rather poor condition.

The cycle path from Mungo Park to the Murrayhill underpass being used as a private driveway, with a sign for East Kilbride's cycle route 1 hidden behind a bush.

  • Icon 107461 So many cyclists unable to park because of lack of parking facilities. The ones available are already fully occupied. Even employer cannot offer space because it's a busy area with so many cyclists
  • Icon 107354 There is no provision in the Court Lane and surrounding streets to serve all the local families with bikes. Most houses have very small front gardens with limited space for secure storage. This location is not outside any individual property and would be perfect for local residents
  • Icon 107353 There is currently no provision for bike parking in Court Lane. Front gardens are typically small with limited space for secure bike storage. We would like to access the local cycle ways into central London and for local journeys to reduce the traffic on the roads and reduce pollution. I have 4 bike users in my house and understand that some of my neighbours are in a similar position
  • Icon 107351 Hammersmith bridge shut down indefinitely. People can only walk or cycle. Imperative to be able to park bike st station.
  • Icon 107329 24/7 Secure cycle parking Lockers, Shower room and towels available.
  • Icon 107307 There is a desperate need to have covered cycle parking. I suggest using Cyclehoop bikehangars for this location as it is ideally placed and space availble on the footpath as it is overly large in this location.
  • Icon 107296 Can't currently cycle as nowhere to safely keep a bike
  • Icon 107268 Hi, This is a resdeintla + commercial area. Bikes have been stolen from here before so a bike storage would be ideal to help us prevent that.
  • Icon 107204 I have moved and cannot commute my bike on public transport so I am looking for secure parking for my bike near limehouse C2C station.

  • Icon 107141 Little space to park generally in this area. The spaces are too often already full. Far more needed.
