The newish section of south-bound cycle path running along the pavement here is a classic example of mad cycling provision which potentially puts people in more danger than they were on the road. The reason? It takes you off road for around 20 metres only to bring you back on between 2 left forks - so it's impossible to tell whether cars are indicating because they have just forked left, or are just about to fork left again onto Scylla Road and run you down! There are no markings to indicate who has right of way but the motor vehicle is the obvious winner for safety reasons! Cyclists would arguably be safer staying on the road where at least other vehicles SHOULD wait to fork left until the cyclist has passed.
