It's great that they put in the southbound cycle lane here, and the traffic lights for bicycles going south. However, although pedestrians are beginning to get the idea, it is true there could have been more distinction made between the cycle path and pavement (though frankly all along Rye Lane lots of kamikaze pedestrians walk into the road without looking at all anyway). The cycle lane should be 2 way, to allow cyclists to pass multiple stationary buses. The timing on the traffic lights needs changing - the reason cyclists ignore them is that it takes about half an hour to go green for cyclists. Of course the moment it does, a pedestrian walks in front of you - when you could have crossed an empty road a minute earlier. This is another ideal location for Dutch style, flashing amber, 'go if no pedestrians are crossing' lights for cyclists.
